Summary:
In the heart of the Quercy region (Lot department) near a hamlet of character called Maxou ( Mercues 7km, Cahors 15km ) nestling between mountains and valleys full of forests and greenery, there is an old stone house full of utter charm and ambiance.

Superbly converted to a very high standard, this is a truly lovely holiday home. The private, heated, swimming pool, a special feature with a delightful covered pool house beside it, is, indeed, spectacular

Situated next door to the owners' house, guests privacy is assured at all times, particularly as there is a separate, private entrance and parking area.

The French owners are quite delightful, very happy to welcome you with information on how to explore this beautiful region (including the best wine routes, domaines of Cahors and best restaurants) and, afterwards, leave you in peace and tranquillity

Mercues is the nearest town, situated on the amazing river Lot, and dominated by its fabulous chateau/hotel - a visit is highly recommended, even if you can only afford an aperitif! Market day each Thursday.

Cahors is a bustling, lively medieval market town, again situated on the River Lot with its many bridges and famous Pont Valentre. A boat trip along the river is a must ñ it will take you past the superb, medieval villages along its banks such as St Cirq Lapopie ñ a haven for artists. Market days in Cahors, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, are a particular attraction, busy and great fun.

Accommodation:
The house is on 2 levels and accommodation depends on how many guests are booking, as follows...

Accommodation for 4 guests:

Large open plan kitchen/dining area/lounge which comprises a fully fitted kitchen, dining table with 4 chairs, dresser, 4 comfortable armchairs, coffee table and hi-fi system, doors to sunny terrace for al fresco dining.
1 double bedroom with double bed, en suite shower room with large shower cubicle, washbasin and WC.

Accommodation for 8 guests will comprise the ground floor together with:

Large open plan kitchen/dining area/lounge which comprises a fully fitted kitchen, dining table with 4 chairs, dresser, 4 comfortable armchairs, coffee table and hi-fi system
1 double bedroom with double bed, en suite shower room with large shower cubicle, washbasin and WC.

The furniture will be changed on the basis of the number of guests i.e. to suit 4, 6 or 8 guests. If there are 8 guests booking, this has the advantage of offering each group their own personal space.
Garden tables, chairs will also be re-arranged to suit.

The property will not be let for separate parties - only groups wishing to holiday together.

Outside:

There is a superb garden of 400m2 which is full of flowers, trees and shrubs for guests private use.
The heated swimming pool (depth 0.90m-1.90m), again private, is always bathed in sunlight inviting you to swim. Floodlit in the evenings. The covered "abri" (covered, poolside terrace) is a delight where you can dine in comfort beside the pool on balmy evenings.
