Beautifully Restored 12th Century Holiday Villa with Private Swimming Pool, near the medieval town of Martel in the delightful Lot region.

La Veyrie Holiday Villa has 2 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms. Suitable for 6 guests + 1 baby. Walking distance to the Dordogne river.

This superb holiday villa with private swimming pool, originally dating back to the 12th century, has been tastefully and sympathetically restored by the owners. It is a most attractive house, beautifully furnished and well equipped. The rooms are long and spacious and, although only having 2 bedrooms on the second floor, the first floor has a comfortable sofa bed which can be screened off to provide extra sleeping accommodation. Visitors to this lovely villa will understand why further bedrooms could not be formed without spoiling the ambiance and charm of this fantastic holiday property. There is an excellent large kitchen and cave area, a wonderfully spacious lounge and wooden beams throughout.

Set in 7 hectares of meadow (approx. 18 acres), bordered by a stream and trees, the holiday villa is within walking distance of the River Dordogne and 5 minutes drive to canoe rental for exploring one of the most beautiful rivers in France. The whole area is full of amazing birds and wild-life, ideal for nature lovers and a photographer’s paradise. A superb situation, very secluded and quiet.

The charming medieval town of Martel, with its twice weekly traditional covered market, is close by, as are some of the best regional restaurants in the area.

Close by there is a steam locomotive (chemin de fer) that runs along the old railway line cut into the cliffs 80 metres above the Dordogne valley. It is a 13 km return journey between St Denis and Martel with beautiful panoramic views. A very popular attraction for both adults and children.
